FOOD BANK ASSISTANT  

Food Bank Assistants work directly with the families we serve at Essential Aid. Responsibilities include  sorting donations, stocking shelves, packaging supplies, client intakes, maintenance, and ensuring a  clean, safe and welcoming environment for all. 

Location: EA Centre, 100 Main St. E., Hamilton.

Hours: Monday/Wednesday/Friday 10:00am-4:00pm, Thursday 6:00pm-8:00pm Reports To: Program Manager.  

Monthly Commitment: 3-6 hours minimum.  

Expense/Remuneration: Parking or transit fees reimbursed. 

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE 

Fundraising Committee Volunteers are actively involved in the planning and execution of various  fundraising events and community support opportunities.  

Location: Work From Home 

Hours: Vary by event. Zoom meeting weekday 7pm-8pm, monthly.

Reports To: Development Coordinator.  

Monthly Commitment: 2-4 hours minimum. Monthly zoom meeting attendance.  

Expense/Remuneration: Parking or transit fees reimbursed. Project based honorarium opportunities.  

EVENT ASSISTANT 

Event Assistants help with various tasks and roles at in person Program/Fundraising events.  

Location: Vary by event. 

Hours: Vary by event.  

Reports To: Fundraising Committee/Executive Director. 

Monthly Commitment: No minimum. 

Expense/Remuneration: Parking or transit fees reimbursed.

PURCHASING ASSISTANT 

Purchasing assistants shop local retailers to help maximize savings and keep our shelves full.  

Location: Hamilton 

Hours: Flexible.  

Reports To: Executive Director. 

Monthly Commitment: No minimum. 

Expense/Remuneration: All purchases reimbursed with receipt. KM allowance available.  

INFORMATION ASSISTANT 

Information Assistants are responsible for responding to incoming inquiries via Social Media and Email.  Responsibilities include providing proper template information in a timely and friendly manner and  scheduling donation pick-ups.  

Location: Work From Home 

Hours: Flexible.  

Reports To: Executive Director. 

Monthly Commitment: Flexible.  

Expense/Remuneration: Data/Internet reimbursement available. 

DONATION ASSISTANT 

Donation assistants help accommodate donors who wish to donate goods by allowing their residence to be a designated drop off location or by picking up donations from donors in our communities. Donation  Assistants are responsible for ensuring all donations are delivered to the EA Centre in a timely manner.  

Location: Work From Home/EA Centre 

Hours: Flexible.  

Reports To: Information Assistants/Executive Director. 

Monthly Commitment: No minimum. 

Expense/Remuneration: KM allowance available.

DELIVERY ASSISTANT 

Delivery Assistants pick up fundraising items from the EA Centre and deliver them to local supporters, as scheduled. 

Location: Hamilton/surrounding areas.  

Hours: Flexible.  

Reports To: Fundraising Committee/Executive Director. 

Monthly Commitment: No minimum. 

Expense/Remuneration: KM allowance available. 

STUDENT PLACEMENT 

Students who choose to complete their co-op terms or placement hours at EA work directly with our  Program Manager and participate in various roles.  

Location: EA Centre. 

Hours: Flexible.  

Reports To: Program Manager.  

Monthly Commitment: No minimum. 

COMMUNITY SUPPORT ASSISTANT 

Community Support Assistants work directly with the Development Coordinator and Executive Director. Responsibilities include researching grant opportunities, building partnerships with local business, organizing and executing donation drives, seeking corporate contributions and community engagement.  

Location: Work From Home.  

Hours: Flexible. 

Reports To: Development Coordinator. 

Monthly Commitment: 2-4 hours minimum.  

Expense/Remuneration: Parking or transit fees reimbursed. Project based honorarium opportunities.
